Miss Claire West co-ordinates this work, and has established links with schools in America and Japan.
Japanese Day 22-01-2016
The whole school thoroughly enjoyed their day on Friday, learning so much about the culture and traditions of Japan. We watched a short film from our new link school in Japan, and we created our own film to share with them.
The Burgoine family gave us a wonderful insight into Japan, it's cultures and traditions. We all watched a traditional Japanese theatre show, whilst eating Japanese snacks. Several children and staff members came dressed for the occasion too!
Our link with Currey Ingram Academy in Nashville, Tennessee, began in the Spring of 2015. We had a special launch day - America Day! We came dressed for the part and learnt about all things American! We had lessons in Line Dancing, and came together at the end of the day for a whole school line dance! We watched a film made by the children of Currey Ingram Academy and sent our own film to them though our joint web site.

We have exchanged gifts and letters through the post, and continue to use technology to blog and facetime each other.
We also celebrate the diversity of our whole school community, and use many different opportunities to share our experiences together. Our International Days are rich in culture and tradition sharing, and we were amazed by the wonderful family projects sent in by everyone.
A group of Year 4 children recently took part in a 'Modern Foreign Language' event at Westfield Academy. Local schools came together to learn four different languages; French, Italian, Spanish and Mandarin.
This followed our special 'Day of European Languages' in September where all classes in the school spent time finding out more about European Countries - there was cooking, singing, art and language learning throughout the school.
